But cheer up, a serious Christ-follower could find his/her way into the White House yet. Then again, perhaps we don't need a religious President; just a smart conservative who upholds the constitution and allows God's people to be about God's business (Luke 2:49 NKJV). I don’t know how I would categorize Mr. Romney – Christian or just religious. Religious people scare me. For example, Mormon cronyism borders on the extreme. George Bush has a relationship – not a religion. It doesn’t mean he is perfect, of course, and he did leave things a mess as he left office. Mrs. Palin also has a relationship (with Jesus Christ). It would be awesome if the Lord led her into political office again. But like all believers, my real hope is in Christ. Your thoughts are deep. A severe persecution is underway in America against those of us who are Pentecostal/Charismatic believers. It's not only from the media, but from the political arena and in the church arena as well. While the Holy Spirit has blurred the lines in a number of areas, we now have more "Spirit-Filled" pastors who are moving away from the message and movement of the Holy Spirit gifts in the local church. Many blame the fruit cakes that are associated with the Spirit Filled community this "cessation" mentality. But our God is FOR us NOT against us! And I believe strongly God is getting us ready for the next Great Awakening! And that's all that matters! Dr. Mike,
