The following is part of the Mitchell’s intro to this video:

Many of you may have heard of the "Back to Jerusalem" vision of the Chinese church. …

In this second part of our interview with Heidi Baker of Iris Ministries, she tells how they’re planting thousands of churches throughout Africa on their way back to Jerusalem. It’s all part of the fulfillment of the Great Commission…

Heidi also shares some of the lessons the church in the West can learn from the people who are "the poorest of the poor." These are people dependent and desperate for God. As Heidi says, "if God doesn’t show up, they’re dead." But she says He does show up, the God who is alive!

Chris Mitchell of CBN News interviewed Heidi Baker of Iris Ministries in Jerusalem a few days ago. This first video contains an update on the ongoing revival ministries of Heidi and her husband Rolland in Mozambique and Malawi, Africa where they have planted 10’s of thousands of churches, and run several orphanages and a school of ministry.

I have personally experienced their ministry several times in my home church during their visits back home to South Orange County California. Always an incredible experience.

This is what Chris Mitchell in way of introduction on his Jerusalem Dateline CBN website:

“Would you believe people are being raised from the dead? Or the deaf hearing? Even food being multiplied? Heidi Baker believes it and has seen it. …

What happened then sounds like stories straight out of the Book of Acts. But Heidi insists it’s happening today. She says it’s a story of miracles and Muslims coming to faith in Jesus.”

Though I will take the corned beef and cabbage but please add some potatoes and carrots–it’s the only day of the year that I can get my wife to fix one of my favorite meals but unfortunately not one of hers.

We really should be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day because he started a major revival that ended up converting an entire pagan nation to Christianity. Not only that, it all happened before there were any denominations, so the Catholics can’t exclusively claim Patrick for themselves–he was a Christian period!

But who was this Patrick anyway? A man born into a Roman Christian family in Wales around 385 AD with a given name of Macwyn Succat. He didn’t make it to Ireland until he was kidnapped at 16 and enslaved by Irish bandits. After six years of service he heard a voice from God instructing him to escape slavery and make it back home.

He did miraculously escape and went on to study at a Christian seminary to become a Priest. Then had a vision from God to return to Ireland as a missionary.

There were really no Christians at the time in Ireland and he singlehandedly established the church in that country while refusing tribute and support from the noblemen and kings. He converted and baptized thousands of pagans, and ordained hundreds of Priests and set up an untold number of Christian communities and churches. Not to mention the signs, wonders, miracles and healings that followed.

Patrick started a revival that converted an entire nation to Christ. Now that’s something to celebrate about! *Top

Here’s an article posted in Ministry Today Magazine by Hope Flinchbaugh– "Miracles in Mozambique". It tells the story of the revival started by the Bakers in Mozambique:

The deaf hear, the lame walk, the blind see, the dead are raised to life, and tens of thousands have surrendered their lives to Christ–all of this is happening in the southeast African country of Mozambique, a nation suffering the squalor of extreme poverty in the aftermath of a prolonged civil war.

When missionaries Heidi and Rolland Baker of California arrived in Mozambique in 1995, they struggled to begin a church and a dilapidated orphanage housing 80 children, a center previously run by communist leaders. Today the Bakers’ Iris Ministries (IM) cares for thousands of orphans and is approaching the point of having a church in every single village in large areas of central Mozambique and southern Malawi.

Dear Ministry Partner,

A military chaplain recently wrote, "I have personally given out thousands of RDKs at no cost to my unit."

It is only with the support of people like you that Rapid Deployment Kits are made available to our troops. Campus Crusade for Christ’s Military Ministry continues to receive requests for an average of 10,000 to 15,000 Kits each month.

To learn how you can help place these Kits—each containing a pocket-sized New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs, a daily devotional, and a booklet that clearly shares the Gospel—into the hands of service members click here.

Wells are being dug bringing fresh water, and children and pastors are graduating from our many schools. Thank you again for being such a very important part in all this.

Much love in Jesus,
Heidi

Response: The message is well worth reading if you want to be blessed and uplifted. Also, we should remember to pray for these folk and their ministry. *Top

Here is the testimony of some teens from North Carolina who went on a ministry trip to Guatemala. In one village they visited in the home of a young woman who had given birth to a still born baby the day before. They proceeded to pray for the dead infant:

"We prayed for thirty to forty minutes.

At the end of that time, Julia screamed out to God, telling Him that she believed with all of her heart that this baby could be raised from the dead. After Julia screamed out, everyone was silent. We were quietly interceding and praying.

Within a few minutes, the baby started moving. Then the baby coughed and began crying. The mother came rushing into the room. She was screaming, what is going on? No one could answer her. We were just staring at the baby, who had come back to life. The mother asked us again, what is going on? She began crying as she saw that her baby was alive.

She ran out of the house and banged on every door in the village, telling all of the people that God is real because her baby was alive. Within about thirty minutes, the baby’s skin tone and movements had become completely normal."

What an incredible experience! These young Christians will never be the same and obviously the Young woman, her baby, and that village also. Praise God!

I found the link to this on iamhealed.net blog. Kathi Sharpe mentions in the post that the teens had watched some of the Lakeland meetings on GodTV before they left on the mission and that’s where they got the idea to pray for the dead baby. *Top

Here is an interview of Bob Roberts a pastor and church planter by Mark Galli. I read this in the July 2007 issue of Christianity Today during lunch yesterday and I believe that it is a must read article particularly for those involved in pastoral ministry or church planting.

Bob Roberts has been involved in planting over 100 churches and is the senior pastor of Northwood Church in Keller, Texas. He proposes that for the church to be really alive and fulfilling its mission, local churches should be not only involved in ministry to the local community, but also actively involved in church planting and Globally in world missions. He encourages all of his church members to be involved in some form of outreach or another.

Some great ideas here that remind me of the church in the book of Acts. *Top

Here is an interesting article about thousands of missionaries from the third world taking the gospel back to Europe. The domestic denominational churches of Europe are basically dead and empty on Sundays and have been for some time. The foreign missionaries are reaching out to the Europeans in new and fresh ways:

Churches in countries such as Nigeria, Ghana, South Korea and the Philippines have sent thousands of missionaries to Europe to set up churches in homes, office buildings and storefronts. Officials from the Redeemed Christian Church of God, a Pentecostal church based in Nigeria, said they have 250 churches in Britain now and plan to create 100 more this year. Britain’s largest church, run by a Nigerian pastor in London, attracts up to 12,000 people over three services every Sunday.
The trend is vivid in Denmark, where charismatic preachers from Africa, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, India, Iran and Latin America have set up vibrant Protestant and Catholic churches.

What a fascinating development. Thousands of missionaries from different countries and churches? Something like this can only happen if it is a genuine move of God. I have read at least a dozen articles recently which claim that Europe is going to be Muslim in 20 years. Maybe God has a different plan? *Top
