-America at the Crossroads

IMG_0195

We are praying for America today at the crossroads of US 50 and US 65 in mid-America, Sedalia MO:

Father, send your Spirit across this nation from the west to the east and let your light shine from the north to the south. Let revival and a new awakening shake America once more. In Jesus name, Amen.

I am challenging everyone of you to designate a major crossroads in your city and to remember to pray for America and revival every time you pass through it. Our real hope for change is in Jesus regardless of the election results in November.                 *Top

-“See You At The Pole” 2016

Today is “See You At The Pole” Day 2016, when thousands of students gather around their flag poles at school to pray together for the nation, the schools, administrators, teachers, and fellow students. From the SYATP website:

SEE YOU AT THE POLE 2016

Wednesday, September 28

WE CRY OUT

A generation seeking Him!

—Psalm 24:3–6

Global Week of Student Prayer
Sunday, September 25 through Saturday, October 1, 2016

For the last 25 years, See You at the Pole has been about one simple act—prayer. SYATP is still about students uniting themselves in prayer before God interceding for their generation.
There are two opportunities to unite in prayer with your friends:

  • DAY: SEE YOU AT THE POLE day is on Wednesday, September 28, at 7:00 a.m. local time. All around the globe, in every time zone, students will be gathering at their flagpoles, praying for their school, friends, families, churches, and communities. SEE YOU AT THE POLE is a day committed to global unity in Christ and prayer for your generation.
  • WEEK: The GLOBAL WEEK OF STUDENT PRAYER (Sunday, September 25 through Saturday, October 1) encourages students to find new and unique ways, places, and times to pray throughout the week. Whether you attend PUBLIC SCHOOL, PRIVATE SCHOOL, or HOME SCHOOL, gather your friends wherever and whenever and pray! The GLOBAL WEEK OF STUDENT PRAYER is dedicated to prayer and launching your on-campus Bible clubs, prayer strategies, and student ministries.

-National Day of Prayer 2016

Today is the 65th annual National Day of Prayer.

The theme for 2016 is Wake Up America, emphasizing the need for individuals, corporately and individually, to return to the God of our Fathers in reverence for His Holy Name. To further highlight the theme, Isaiah 58:1a is the key Scripture chosen for this year:  “Shout it aloud, do not hold back. Raise your voice like a trumpet.

Please take the time to pray today for America and for our leaders. May God continue to bless America as we continue to honor him and his Son Jesus.

Today America is at a fork in the road. It could continue to decline and fall away from the religious foundation it was built upon. This is the enemies plan for our nation as he continues to sows fear and division in our land. Let us pray for revival and a new awakening instead that would bring our nation back to God and bring hope, faith, love, and healing among our people.

Here’s a link to the National Day of Prayer website for more information and a list of activities for the day.             *Top

-Man with Terminal Cancer Healed

Here’s the account of a man diagnosed with terminal cancer that did not give up but he and his wife kept on praying for a miracle and finally received a documented healing. From the Blaze:

“Even though I know my Lord so intimately and have a deep relationship with him, I really shook in my boots,” Rosey Brausen said, explaining how difficult it was to continue praying when doctors were asking how her husband was going to spend his last days.

She said that God warned the couple that they were “in for a battle,” and so they hunkered down, refusing to give up hope that healing could be a possibility; rather than give up, they began taking a number of steps in an effort to steadfastly hope — and pray — for the best.

“Getting a prayer team around us, saying scripture out loud over us … and then keeping my eyes focused on [God],” Rosey said of their actions, which also included treatments and the removal of a lung.

Many times, she said that Christians treat God like a Santa Claus of sorts, imploring him to “give us what we’re praying for,” but not realizing that it can sometimes be a long battle — and that he won’t always answer every prayer.

In the end, Rosey said that she had to learn true and profound trust in the Almighty as she journeyed through her husband’s illness.

Response: This account is important since the story has broken through and has been noticed in the regular American media. I have known a number of folks in the last few years who have gone through similar healings but usually the MSM ignores them even if there is documented evidence.

Healings and miracles seem to be on the increase among Christians in America. Finally the press is beginning to write about them (See the previous article about the Pope blessing a family).

We are hoping and praying for revival and a new spiritual awakening in this nation. Signs and wonders, miracles and healings always seem to have a part of any move of God. In the past, the American media has documented those revivals and awakenings. Even in the 50’s the LA Times publicized a new evangelist- Billy Graham and featured accounts of his meetings on their front page and played an invaluable part in his rise to fame. Today that more than likely would not happen. Up to this point the national media has been ignoring any evidence of supernatural healing among Christians. Keep on praying!              *Top

-‘Answered Prayers’ on TV

God still answers prayers. To prove the point, Roman Downey is involved with hosting and producing a new TV series on TLC called ‘Answered Prayers.’ Here’s the story from the  Christian Post:

Roma Downey’s riveting new six-part series “Answered Prayers,” which features real-life stories of people in potentially life-threatening situations who experience divine intervention, says she’s “thankful” and “humbled” by fans’ support for the show.

“We are humbled by the support of so many national prayer leaders, and thankful for how this show is inspiring so many to pray again,” said Downey about the series which has now moved to primetime at 8 p.m. ET Sundays on the TLC network.

As one of the show’s executive producers, Downey hosts each one-hour episode that incorporates actual footage and interviews paired with powerful reenactments.

Response: A few years ago, Roma and her husband were able to convince TV executives to air their Bible series and that was a real demonstration of answered prayer. The success of that series has now led to this new one on TLC that shows God still working miracles and saving people today. A great uplifting series for family viewing.

This is also a message that our secular culture really needs to hear and be exposed to. I am hoping that the series will pave the way for us to share our own answered prayers and miracles with our friends, neighbors, and family.               *Top
